Description

The Screen Awards was started in 1994, by the chairman of The Express Group, Mr. Vivek Goenka to honour excellent performances in the Bollywood Films. A panel of distinguished professionals nominate and select the awardees. The Awards under various categories are given to Hindi and Marathi films, TV and non-film music. The award function is held annually in the month of January. 18th Annual Colours Screen Awards was held in Mumbai on 22nd January, 2012. The best actor and actress were won by Ranbir Kapoor for Rockstar and Vidya Balan for Dirty picture respectively. The lifetime achievement award was given to the singer, Asha Bhonsle and A.R. Rahman clinched the Best Music Director's Award. The audiences were entertained by their favourite stars with highly exciting performances. Best male and female singers award were won by Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal respectively.
