Description

The show is an adaptation of the Pop Idol format. The first season of the show was aired in the year 2004. The launch of the fifth season was in the year 2010. The fifth season was won by Sreeram Chandra of Hyderabad. The winner won a recording contract with Sony BMG as well as a contract with Sony Entertainment Television of Rs. 5,000,000 and a Suzuki GS-150R Motorbike.  A TATA Winger Platinum car and a chance to do playback singing in a Yash Raj Film were also given to the winner. The new series had Sunidhi Chouhan, Salim Merchant and Anu Malik as the judges. Anu Malik has been judging the show since its launch in the year 2004.
