Lockdown is a TV series that airs on National Geographic channel. It is documentary that brings us closer to America’s toughest jails and prison. It takes us on an educational tour and revealing the conditions and environment of these prisons. It shows us the stories about the prisons through the eyes of the inmates. It reveals the conditions they have to endure during their stay and how difficult life in the prison can become. The program aims at placing the public in a state of awareness and terror with the target of preventing repeat offenders. It gives us firsthand accounts of inmates and officers and tells us about the gangs in the prison who have an upper hand in the setup.
