Description

With the first season proving to be a success, Network Ten was set to continue the success to Masterchef Australia Season 2. And with a new season comes a new format, starting with chef judges Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris as the new show hosts. A new elimination procedure is also introduced, as team elimination became a bit of a cliché with contestants voting off the good ones because of the threat. A new kind of immunity is also given to contestants who were able to beat the chefs in the Celebrity Chef Challenge.

Nearing the end of the show the remaining 8 contestants are then sent off to London and Paris for the Euro Week. They then compete in the “ultimate super-challenge” and had celebrity cooks and renowned chefs such as Martin Blunos and Heston Blumenthal as guests. The finale showcased the cook-off between Adam Liaw and Callum Hann. The announcement of the season winner received so much anticipation, and Australia celebrated with Adam Liaw as he was declared the champ.
