The ninth season proved to be the most popular one. It was the longest running weekly Indian reality television show. The show is aired on MTV channel. The auditions of this show started on 16th September, 2011. The first set of auditions was held in Pune. Following it there were auditions in Kolkata, Delhi, Chandigarh and Hyderabad. The show MTV Roadies Season 9 is directed by Raghu Ram. It is presented by Runnvijay Singh from season 2 onwards. The first show was aired in the year 2002. The actual format of the show will begin after the auditions are completed. Before the actual airing of the auditions went on the television two months after the auditions were held. The tasks become harder as the show proceeds.

There are 3 types of tasks: Money Tasks, Immunity Tasks & Advantage Tasks. The tasks become harder for the contestants as the show proceeds. The mastermind behind the show, Raghu is well known for adding twists and turns to the journey. Survival in the show is very difficult.
